Former Middlesbrough manager Rob Edward Explains why he left the club and choose to move to wolves

Former Middlesbrough manager Rob Edwards has spoken out after his move to Wolverhampton Wanderers was officially confirmed.

The 42-year-old, who joined Boro in June, departed the Championship side just six months into a three-year deal with the club sitting second in the table. Edwards acknowledged the backlash from fans but described the decision as one of the toughest of his career, saying Wolves were the only club he would have left Middlesbrough for.

A former Wolves defender and youth coach, Edwards said returning to Molineux was a “dream opportunity.”

He thanked Middlesbrough’s owner, staff, and supporters, expressing pride in the progress made during his brief tenure.

Boro confirmed his resignation on Wednesday, adding that a compensation agreement had been reached. Assistant Adi Viveashwill take temporary charge as the club searches for a new manager.
