As the January transfer window edges closer, clubs are already quietly planning their recruitment strategies, assessing both potential arrivals and players who could be moved on.
Rangers are preparing for a similar shake-up, with Danny Rohl set for his first chance to mould the squad since taking over from Russell Martin. Although the previous manager received significant financial backing over the summer, sporting director Kevin Thelwell has indicated that the club expects to remain “fairly active” in the upcoming window.
While the winter market can be challenging for clubs hoping to secure top-level talent, Rangers will still aim to strengthen Rohl’s hand. That inevitably means certain players could be pushed toward the exit to create room for new additions.
A number of fringe figures may now find themselves considering their futures—either on loan or through permanent transfers. Among the five players flagged as potential departures are:
Nedim Bajrami
Brought in by Philippe Clement in August 2024, Bajrami’s move from Sassuolo simply hasn’t worked. He hasn’t been trusted to start a league match, has barely featured off the bench, and was omitted from both the Premier Sports Cup semi-final squad and the Europa League list. A fresh start elsewhere seems the most realistic outcome.
Clinton Nsiala
Since joining from AC Milan last summer, Nsiala has found regular football hard to come by, making only 13 total appearances. With Rohl preferring several other centre-backs—including Souttar, Cornelius, Djiga and Fernandez—the 21-year-old may need a new club to reignite his development.
