Breaking News: “The very best”… The defender for Tottenham Hotspur who was sold for six million pounds is analyzed by Chris Sutton
Christopher Sutton has provided his opinion on Cameron Carter-Vickers, a defender for Celtic who was purchased by Tottenham Hotspur for a sum of six million pounds.
The former Celtic striker and current analyst for BBC Sport is of the opinion that Carter-Vickers is the most talented defender in the Scottish Premiership football league.
The question is, what exactly has Chris Sutton said about Cameron Carter-Vickers, who formerly played for Tottenham Hotspur? Let’s take a shot at it.
Cameron Carter-Vickers, a former center back for Tottenham Hotspur, has been referred to as “the best” in the Scottish Premiership.
On Saturday afternoon, Celtic will play Rangers at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership. The match will take place in Scotland.
Brendan Rodgers, the manager of Celtic, has announced that Cameron Carter-Vickers would not be participating in the Old Firm game.
This is due to the fact that the center defender who once played for Tottenham Hotspur has a hamstring issue.
Chris Sutton, a former Celtic striker, has stated that Carter-Vickers is the finest defender in the Scottish Premiership. This statement was made in response to the news.
Over the course of this season, Carter-Vickers has made 13 appearances for the Hoops in the Scottish Premiership and has provided one assist.
Last year, the central defender for the United States national team, who is 25 years old, participated in 29 league games.
After leaving Tottenham Hotspur, Cameron Carter-Vickers is thriving in his new league.
Although it is unfortunate that Cameron Carter-Vickers was unable to make an impact at Tottenham Hotspur, I am pleased to see that he is thriving at Celtic.
At Celtic, the 25-year-old has made significant strides and matured a great deal. It has even been said that he is comparable to Virgil van Dijk, a defender for Liverpool. The American has been able to improve his skills and realize his full potential as a result of his consistent participation for the Hoops.
During the time that Carter-Vickers was playing for Tottenham, the Premier League club, he was unable to establish himself as a member of the first team.
Following loan stints at Sheffield United, Ipswich Town, Swansea City, Stoke City, Luton Town, and Bournemouth, the United States international player spent the 2021-22 season at Celtic on loan. He then made the loan deal permanent in the summer of 2022 for a fee of six million pounds (The Daily Mail).
Over the course of his career at Celtic, Carter-Vickers has been successful in winning the Scottish Premiership on two separate occasions, the Scottish League Cup on two separate occasions, and the Scottish Cup on one occasion.
It is interesting to note that Carter-Vickers was rumored to be returning to Spurs in the summer of 2023, following Ange Postecoglou’s departure from Celtic to take over as manager of the North London club.
Postecoglou reportedly expressed his desire for the Spurs to re-sign Carter-Vickers in June, as reported by the Daily Star. The manager of Tottenham worked with the defender who represented the United States of America at Celtic.
