Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder shared his thoughts after the Blades’ 3-1 victory over Leicester City

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder praised his side’s display after their impressive 3-1 victory over Leicester City, speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield following the match.

Wilder described the performance as commanding from start to finish, noting that it came against a strong Leicester squad. He felt United set the tone early and maintained their intensity throughout the game.

The Blades boss highlighted the impact of his attacking players, explaining that the centre-forwards and wingers caused constant problems and helped create a number of high-quality chances.

While pleased overall, Wilder admitted he felt slightly disappointed for goalkeeper Michael Cooper, who he believed deserved a clean sheet before Leicester’s late goal took a deflection.

Defensively, Wilder was full of praise for how his team limited Leicester’s threats, saying they successfully nullified both the wide players and the central striker.

He also singled out the midfield battle, pointing out that Dji Soumaré and Jai Riedewald did an excellent job of controlling the game against highly rated Leicester midfielders, including Jordan James and Oliver Skipp.

Wilder added that the flow of the match reflected Sheffield United’s dominance, joking that he spent much of the first half looking down one touchline and the second half down the other, underlining how consistently his side performed across the pitch.
