Issame Charai has confirmed that Rangers have not submitted an official offer for Tuur Rommens, despite ongoing speculation linking the Ibrox club with the defender.
The 22-year-old Westerlo left-back has impressed this season in the Belgian league, prompting reports of interest from Rangers. However, Charai — formerly part of the Rangers coaching staff and now head coach at Westerlo — insists no formal approach has been made.
Speaking on the situation, Charai stated that Westerlo are actually looking to strengthen at left-back, making new additions a priority during the current window.
Rommens, a former Belgium Under-21 captain, is believed to be valued at around £3.5 million. Charai previously worked under Philippe Clement at Rangers before departing last summer to take charge at Westerlo.
He added that the club’s focus remains on developing the current squad, with ten league fixtures and the play-offs still to come as they aim to finish the season strongly.
