Rangers comeback talk grows as Ryan Kent posts cryptic Instagram update

Ryan Kent’s sensational return to Rangers may not be as far-fetched as once thought after a fresh update on the winger’s future.

The Gers signed Kent from Liverpool for £7 million in 2019 following a standout loan spell at Ibrox, where he netted six league goals in 27 appearances.

The winger stayed in Glasgow until 2023, scoring 22 Premiership goals and playing a key role in Rangers’ first league title in a decade under Steven Gerrard.

A reunion was mooted last year, but Rangers opted against a move at the time.

Kent is now without a club after his contract with Seattle Sounders expired. The 29-year-old joined the MLS side last January, making 16 league appearances and registering four assists, but was not offered a renewal. While a January return still appears unlikely due to his limited recent minutes, Rangers fans have been given fresh reason to speculate.

Kent has wiped almost all content from his Instagram account, leaving just five posts visible — two of which date back to his time at Ibrox.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Kent, Rangers are expected to be active in the transfer market. Tochi Chukwuani is reportedly closing in on a £4 million move from Sturm Graz and is awaiting clearance to travel to Scotland. Danny Rohl has been keen to add a defensive midfielder, and the 22-year-old Dane fits the bill, boasting European experience and a physical edge already tested against Celtic captain Callum McGregor.

Rangers are also believed to be pushing ahead with a move for Westerlo left-back Tuur Rommens, with reports suggesting a £3 million bid for the Belgian U21 international has been accepted.
