Medical complete as Rangers prepare to announce Röhl’s third January signing

Rangers are poised to confirm the signing of Andreas Skov Olsen from VfL Wolfsburg, with the Denmark international set to become the club’s third addition of the January transfer window.

Skov Olsen will follow Tochi Chukwuani and Tuur Rommens through the door at Ibrox, joining on a loan deal that includes an option to make the move permanent in the summer for a fee believed to be in the region of £8.5 million.

According to Danish outlet Tipsbladet, Rangers are expected to officially unveil the 26-year-old on Friday after he successfully completed his medical. The report also claims that the agreement contains performance-related bonuses and a sell-on clause in Wolfsburg’s favour should Rangers activate the purchase option.

Although Skov Olsen struggled to meet expectations during his time in Germany, his form at Club Brugge showed his quality, and he will now be aiming to reignite his career in Glasgow. The winger is set to be presented to supporters at Ibrox in the coming days.

Rangers manager Danny Röhl is not expected to stop there, with further additions anticipated before the window closes. The club’s owners, Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises, have already shown strong backing for the German boss during this transfer window.

Several departures could also be on the horizon, with Danilo and Nedim Bajrami placed on the transfer list. Joe Rothwell, Kieran Dowell, Rabbi Matondo, Lyall Cameron and Findlay Curtis have all been linked with moves away.

With Rangers struggling for consistent goals this season, it would not be a surprise to see a new striker arrive as Röhl’s fourth signing of the winter window, though any further business remains to be seen.
