Celtic have received a boost in their chase for highly rated Shamrock Rovers striker Michael Noonan as they look to strengthen their attacking options this month. Manager Martin O’Neill has made it clear that reinforcements are needed up front.
The Hoops’ interest in the 17-year-old highlights their long-term planning in attack. Noonan began his senior career at St Patrick’s Athletic before joining Shamrock Rovers in 2025.
Since arriving, he has made 46 appearances in all competitions, scoring nine goals and providing four assists. His performances have also earned him international recognition.
Noonan has already made his debut for the Republic of Ireland under-21s and has scored once in three appearances.
Should a move materialise, he would follow a similar path to Celtic striker Johnny Kenny, who joined the club from Sligo Rovers in 2021 after establishing himself at Shamrock Rovers.

However, no agreement has yet been reached. Bundesliga side Hoffenheim are said to be in advanced talks with Shamrock Rovers but have so far failed to meet the club’s €2 million valuation.
