Norwich City’s 2-1 victory away at Wrexham underlined their determination to compete with the Championship’s strongest sides, according to head coach Philippe Clement.
The Canaries claimed all three points in north Wales despite being without Josh Sargent, who was left out for disciplinary reasons.
Clement praised the challenge posed by the hosts, acknowledging Wrexham’s strong recent form.
He said Wrexham had been in excellent shape, winning their previous five matches and even knocking Premier League side Nottingham Forest out of the FA Cup, making the trip a difficult one.
However, Clement felt his players approached the match with confidence and intensity, reflecting what he had seen in training during the week.
He described the result as a significant and important win, adding that it sent a clear message about Norwich’s ambition to test themselves against the league’s top teams.
Despite the victory, Norwich remain in the bottom three, with Portsmouth also picking up an away win at Sheffield Wednesday.
