Danny Rohl identifies player he wants off the books before deadline, according to journalist

Rangers Prioritize Danilo Exit as Transfer Deadline Looms

Rangers are still looking to offload several players before the February 2 transfer deadline. Recent moves include Oscar Cortes joining Huracan on loan for £60,000, Lyall Cameron heading to Aberdeen, and Findlay Curtis close to reuniting with Neil McCann at Kilmarnock.

Manager Danny Rohl is focused on reshaping the squad as Rangers aim for the Scottish Premiership title, with players like Kieran Dowell and Joe Rothwell also expected to leave. However, journalist Andy Devlin has named Danilo as a priority exit.

The Brazilian striker, signed from Feyenoord for £6m in July 2023, showed promise initially but has struggled with injuries and form.

Despite scoring in back-to-back games in October and in the 3-0 win over Celtic in January 2025, he has since fallen out of Rohl’s plans and hasn’t started a match since mid-December.

Rangers face a challenge selling Danilo abroad, but trimming his wage from the squad is now seen as essential.

Fans will remember the 21 appearances and glimpses of quality, but overall his spell at Ibrox has been disappointing compared to expectations.
