Ryan Naderi keen on Rangers move as Rostock chief responds and FIFA rule comes into play

Hansa Rostock sporting director Amir Shapourzadeh has made it clear the club are reluctant to sell Ryan Naderi to Rangers, insisting they will not risk derailing their season.

The 22-year-old striker is a target for the Ibrox side as they look to strengthen Danny Röhl’s attacking options before the window closes.

Rangers are reported to have submitted a bid worth around £2.6m, but the German club want to retain the forward for the rest of the campaign. Despite that stance, reports in Germany suggest Naderi would welcome a move to Scotland and sees it as a major opportunity in his career, with interest in playing in the Premiership and potentially in European competition.

However, Shapourzadeh has stressed the club’s priority remains on-field success rather than a mid-season sale. Speaking to Ostsee Zeitung, he said: “No one is unsellable in football, but we want to get the maximum sporting result from the season. We don’t want to jeopardise our goals.”

On the player’s reaction, he added: “Ryan is handling the situation very professionally. He is very mature for his age — an intelligent young man who thinks things through carefully and is easy to talk to.”

Should Rostock agree to a deal in the region of €3m, a portion of the fee — around €67,500 — would reportedly go to Dynamo Dresden due to a prior agreement.

Rangers remain in the market for additional attacking options, particularly with Danilo attracting interest elsewhere.

Youssef Chermiti has also been linked with a move to Fenerbahce, although the Turkish club are now said to have cooled their interest in the striker.
