Millwall submit offer for Sheffield Wednesday striker also wanted by Charlton

Millwall boss Alex Neil has already strengthened his squad by signing Barry Bannan from Sheffield Wednesday this month, but the Lions are continuing to target players from the Yorkshire club. Reports suggest Millwall have had an offer turned down for Owls forward Bailey Cadamarteri, as Wednesday deal with financial uncertainty that has alerted several rival sides.

The Owls have already allowed long-serving midfielder Bannan to leave for The Den and have also rejected an approach from Millwall for Svante Ingelsson. Now, Cadamarteri has become the latest subject of interest, with multiple EFL clubs monitoring the 20-year-old attacker. Charlton Athletic, Swansea City, Stoke City, Luton Town, Wycombe Wanderers and Mansfield Town have all been linked with the striker.

Sheffield Wednesday are standing firm on their valuation. A £750,000 bid from Blackburn Rovers was recently dismissed, following an earlier £250,000 offer from Hibernian that was also rejected. BBC Sheffield journalist Rob Stanton has since reported that Millwall saw their own proposal for Cadamarteri knocked back as well.

The young forward has featured regularly under Henrik Pedersen this season and has netted twice. With 51 Championship appearances already and senior international caps for Jamaica, Cadamarteri is viewed as a promising talent.

His performances for the Reggae Boyz have also drawn praise. After scoring in just his second international outing against Trinidad & Tobago, former Jamaica coach Steve McClaren described him as a standout prospect, highlighting his goal threat, work rate and impact despite being relatively new to the setup.
