Naderi shares first words as Rangers player after Ibrox arrival

Ryan Naderi says he is determined to make a strong impression at Ibrox after sealing a record-breaking deadline-day switch from Hansa Rostock.

Rangers’ persistence — along with the striker’s eagerness to complete the transfer — proved decisive late in the window, as an agreement was finally reached with the German club. Naderi has signed a long-term deal and joins the squad to challenge Youssef Chermiti and Bojan Miovski for a place leading the attack.

“I’m delighted the move has gone through,” Naderi said. “Now that I’m here, I want to take full advantage of this opportunity. Rangers are a huge club with a proud history of winning trophies, and that’s exactly what I’ve come to be part of.

The forward completed a deadline-day switch from Hansa Rostock to Ibrox in a deal believed to be worth around £5 million.

Rangers spent much of the day in talks to push the transfer over the line after an earlier £3 million bid had been rejected. In the end, they secured the striker in what is a record fee for a player arriving from Germany’s third tier.

Following his arrival, Naderi made it clear his ambitions in Glasgow are centred on silverware at what he described as a “world-renowned” club.

“I’m delighted the move has gone through,” he said.

“Now that I’m here, I want to make the most of this opportunity. Rangers are a huge club with a proud history of winning trophies, and that’s exactly what I’ve come here to do.”

“I can’t wait to meet my teammates, the staff, and the fans over the coming days and weeks. I’m ready to get going and hope to make a positive difference for the team for the rest of the season.”

Naderi’s arrival marked Rangers’ fourth and final signing of the window, with manager Danny Röhl receiving backing from chairman Andrew Cavenagh in the transfer market.
