Norwich City seal striker deal with struggling side

Boston United have secured an extension to Ken Aboh’s loan from Norwich City, keeping the young forward at the Jakemans Community Stadium until the end of the season as they aim for stability in a difficult National League campaign.

The 21-year-old has been with the Pilgrims since November, making 15 appearances in all competitions and scoring once. After initially arriving on a short-term deal that was extended in stages, the latest agreement confirms he will remain with the squad through the remainder of the 2025–26 season. Aboh came through Norwich’s academy ranks and signed professional terms with the Canaries before heading out on loan for senior experience.

Last season, he featured in the EFL during loan spells at Stevenage and Colchester United, though game time was limited. His switch to Boston has offered more regular involvement and exposure to the physical demands of non-league football.

The extension comes at an important time for Boston, who have changed manager in a bid to halt their slide down the table. Former Ipswich Town boss Paul Hurst has been appointed to steady the team and guide them clear of relegation trouble in the closing months.

Boston’s battle for survival

The Pilgrims pulled off a dramatic escape under Graham Coughlan last season, but this term has been more turbulent. Coughlan’s departure followed reported tensions behind the scenes, and he publicly voiced his frustration after leaving.

Boston currently sit 18th in the National League with 30 points from 30 matches, recording seven wins, nine draws and 14 defeats. With the gap to the drop zone tight, consistency and squad depth are crucial. Keeping Aboh provides continuity in attack during a period when other areas of the squad have seen change.

While his goal tally so far is modest, the club will hope that more time under new leadership allows him to settle further and make a greater impact as the season heads into its decisive stretch.

For Boston, retaining a player already integrated into the squad is a sensible move that limits disruption. For Aboh, it means a sustained run of senior football as he continues his development away from Carrow Road
