Green Brigade criticise Celtic board before Europa League showdown with Stuttgart

The Green Brigade have issued a fresh statement ahead of Celtic’s Europa League clash with Stuttgart, as tensions between the ultras group and the club board continue.

The supporters’ group remains banned by Celtic F.C., with Monday’s fixture marking the 26th match they have missed. Interim chairman Brian Wilson previously indicated that dialogue would continue following a meeting earlier this month, but the Green Brigade claim there has been no follow-up.

In a post on X, the group stated that despite assurances of ongoing communication after the February 12 meeting, they have received no update from the club and that two subsequent emails have gone unanswered.

Minutes from a meeting between Wilson and the Celtic Fans Collective suggest discussions are still in progress. Wilson reportedly said there is willingness within the board to resolve the issue, noting that progress had been made on one aspect of the dispute while another remains more complicated. However, he did not offer a timeline for lifting the ban.

The Collective reiterated its belief that the club’s current stance is disproportionate and argued that reinstating the Green Brigade would be an immediate show of good faith. Wilson acknowledged that the group’s presence can positively influence the team but stopped short of committing to when, or if, the ban would be lifted.

With Celtic aiming to finish their Europa League campaign strongly and continue their domestic push, the absence of one of the club’s most vocal supporter sections has been noticeable at Parkhead. The ongoing standoff leaves questions over whether the board will take decisive action to restore unity before the season reaches its climax.
