Celtic are reportedly considering a summer move for Claudio Braga after the striker played a key role in Heart of Midlothian’s push for the Scottish Premiership title this season.
According to SportsBoom, the Glasgow club are already planning for the upcoming transfer window as they attempt to strengthen their attacking options.
Celtic had been chasing a fifth straight league title but have endured a difficult campaign. With 29 matches played, they currently sit five points behind Hearts in the standings.
The season has also been turbulent in the dugout. Martin O’Neill has twice stepped in as manager after the departures of both Brendan Rodgers and Wilfried Nancy.
Braga attracting Celtic interest
Braga has been one of the standout performers at Tynecastle since arriving last summer for around £400,000.
The 26-year-old forward has scored 12 goals and provided three assists in 29 league appearances, earning a reputation as a clinical finisher and drawing attention from several clubs.
Celtic are believed to have included Braga on a shortlist of potential attacking targets as they look to add more firepower to their squad.
During the January window, the Hoops brought in Tomas Cvancara and Junior Adamu on loan, but neither striker has made a major impact since arriving.
As a result, strengthening the forward line remains a priority for the summer.
Reports suggest Hearts could be prepared to sell Braga for around £5 million following his impressive form.
Premier League clubs also interested
Celtic’s pursuit could be complicated by interest from the Premier League.
Both Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion are believed to be monitoring the Portuguese striker after his strong performances in Scotland.
It remains unclear where Braga would prefer to move, but Hearts may favour selling him abroad if they decide to cash in.
That scenario could make it significantly harder for Celtic to win the race for his signature despite their strong interest.
