The story behind Rangers’ set-piece drought in recent months

Over the course of the Scottish Premiership season, it is Danny Röhl’s team that have generated the highest number of chances from set-piece situations.

Following the arrival of set-piece coach Scott Fry, there was an immediate improvement in Rangers’ effectiveness from dead-ball scenarios.

Between his first game in the role and the visit to Pittodrie Stadium in early January, the team netted seven set-piece goals across 11 league fixtures, highlighting a clear early impact.

However, that momentum has since stalled. Rangers have now gone eight consecutive league matches without scoring from a set play, raising questions about whether the initial boost provided by Fry has begun to fade or if opposition teams have simply adapted to their routines.
