John Eustace has confirmed that Corey Blackett-Taylor is likely to miss the rest of the season after suffering a thigh injury while on loan.
The 28-year-old winger, currently at Bolton Wanderers from Derby County, has missed recent games against Doncaster Rovers and Port Vale after picking up the injury against Rotherham United earlier this month.
Speaking over the weekend, Eustace admitted the outlook is not promising and suggested the injury could keep Blackett-Taylor sidelined until the end of the campaign.
βI think his injury is probably out till the end of the season,β Eustace said, while also confirming no decision has yet been made on whether the winger will return to Derby for treatment.
bolton also fearing the worst
Bolton boss Steven Schumacher had already hinted at the severity of the issue, revealing scans showed a high-grade thigh tear.
βIt is possible we might not see him again,β Schumacher said, stressing that the final decision will depend on medical assessments in the coming weeks.
blow for club and player
The news comes as a setback for both player and club. Blackett-Taylor had begun to make an impact at Bolton, scoring twice and registering an assist in five starts as they push for promotion from League One.
His latest injury continues a frustrating season, having already struggled for game time earlier in the campaign at Derby before making the January loan switch.
