Breaking News: Celtic Fc have agreed a deal to sign 22 years-old player Adam Idah from EFL Championship club Norwich City! Will these benefit the Hoops? Or Not

Celtic and Norwich City have agreed to let Adam Idah play for them on loan for the rest of the season.

If the deal is completed by Thursday, the Republic of Ireland international will join for the rest of the current season, and there will be no chance to buy.

It’s only been 12 games this season, but the 22-year-old has scored seven goals in 34 games for the English Championship team.

Idah, who is from Cork, first played for his country as a teenager in 2020, and he has since won 22 caps.

In the green of Ireland, he has scored three goals. The most recent one was in a friendly draw with New Zealand in Dublin at the end of last year.

The other two goals were against Gibraltar and the Netherlands in the qualifying rounds for Euro 2024.

If he moves to Glasgow, he will be competing for the center-forward spot with Kyogo Furuhashi and Hyeongyu Oh, who is currently at the Asian Cup. The Hoops are trying to win their third straight league title and keep the Scottish Cup they won last year.

At the moment, they are five points ahead of Rangers in second place in the Premiership, but Rangers still have 15 games to play.

Celtic has already signed one player this month, the German winger Nicolas Kuhn. If the Idah deal goes through, he will be their second new player this month.

This season, the 22-year-old has scored seven goals, and commentator Carlton Palmer praised his performance against the Netherlands, where he made things hard for Nathan Ake and Virgil van Dijk.

“Center forward Adam Idah of Norwich City has had a great start to the season.” He has three goals in seven games for his club and his country. And now that Josh Sargent is hurt for Norwich, it’s good news for the team.

“He seems lively, and his speed caused a lot of trouble for very good center backs Nathan Ake of Manchester City and [Virgil] van Dijk of Liverpool in the international game for Ireland.”

“Norwich will hope that this performance gives him the confidence to keep scoring in the Championship in games against defenders who aren’t nearly as good as van Dijk and Ake.”

Now, Celtic will be hoping that his “impressive” recent form can continue at Parkhead. Based on how things are looking, it’s only a matter of time before a move is made public and Idah can compete in attack with Kyogo Furuhashi and Hyeon-gyu Oh.
