Ex-Man city player Joao Cancelo break silence and hit back at Pep Guardiola and called him a lie and blasted the whole team with bad mouthing
It is said that Joao Cancelo went on a violent rant against his parent club Manchester City, in which he called boss Pep Guardiola a liar.
The Portuguese player spent the second half of last year at Bayern Munich and is now on loan at Barcelona for the rest of the season.
Some news sources said that Guardiola didn’t like how Cancelo reacted to being taken out of City’s starting lineup during their title-winning season.
In an interview with the Portuguese newspaper A Bola, however, the 29-year-old said that Guardiola was wrong.
“Lies were told!” he said. You can ask either Nathan Ake or Rico Lewis if I’ve ever been a bad teammate for them. Even though I don’t think I’m better or worse than them, that’s what the boss thinks.
It’s not true, so I stayed. They said that, but I think they were being rude because I was a very important person for them while I was there.
“I never broke my promise to the fans and the club. I always gave it my all.” Someone broke into my house and beat me. The next day I had to play Arsenal at the Emirates.
“Don’t forget these things: I left my wife and daughter home alone and scared.” That’s all anyone will remember because Mr. Guardiola speaks with more authority than I do, and I’d rather keep my mouth shut.
The player, Cancelo, said that he “wishes” everything goes well at Man City. He also said that he made the right decision to leave on loan in January 2023, even though he missed out on the Treble.
“I was loaned to Bayern Munich last year because of certain things,” he said. Even if City won the Champions League, I don’t feel bad about what I did. I think I made the right choice when I went to a club that really wanted me, even before I signed a new deal. I got a lot from that club in the six months I spent there.
After his time with Bayern Munich, he went on loan to Barcelona, where he is making less money because the club is having money problems.
Guardiola said, “I wish him the best” after letting Cancelo go on loan last season. He has been a huge part of winning two Premier League wins.
“Since the World Cup, we’ve played in different ways, and I’ve given other players more time.”
Everybody has their own style. We all agreed that he should go to Munich because he loves to play and works very hard, but he needs to play to be happy.
Even though it looks like Cancelo will leave Man City this summer, he will come back to the club.
President of Barcelona Joan Laporta said that the club wants to keep Cancelo for next season, but the club’s money problems could make that hard.
