Newcastle United coach Eddie Howe break silence to reveal the latest injury update on the 24-year-old player Joe Willock after he limped off the pitch during their match win vs Fulham
The manager of Newcastle United gave a report on midfielder Joe Willock, who left the game against Fulham with an injury.
Because of problems with his achilles and hamstring, the player has already had a rough season, but he couldn’t finish the game at Craven Cottage.
Howe told the press after the game, “Joe is still feeling his achilles.” This has been bothering him for a while now. We hoped that he would get better over time. He was having a bad day today, and he didn’t look good or like he could keep going.
“He wasn’t in a lot of pain, but it was bad enough that he wasn’t at his best.” We switched things up, and I thought Elliot Anderson did a good job. Harvey Barnes played well, and so did the subs who came on late and played well. A huge job was done by those who were fit.
Howe has also given hints about what he told his team during a break for injuries when Martin Dubravka got hurt. Howe got angry at his stars during what turned into a strategy time out.
“I don’t want to say it again, but we needed to wake up.” Because teams in the Premier League are so mean, if you aren’t on your game, you will be punished, he said. “We were lucky to still be in the game at the break.”
“I think the fact that it was still 0-0 was important. We could have lost.” We lost a lot of duels that we should have won, and Fulham punished us a lot until the very end. The problem was probably mental rather than physical.
