Eddie Howe talks about why Elliot Anderson didn’t start the game against Fulham.
After how Anderson played against Everton, it looked like he was ready to start at Craven Cottage. Some people were surprised when Howe chose Joe Willock instead of him and kept Sean Longstaff.
Harvey Barnes was also put on the bench after two games in which he scored two goals and set up one. Howe was happy to talk about his decision after the game. He told Chronicle Live, “It wasn’t a hard choice; Harvey is just back from injury and played 90 minutes, and I wanted to protect him.” Another injury was Elliot’s, so it was important to take care of him and keep him fit for the long run.
Bruno told the press, “We weren’t good enough in the first 20 minutes, but after that and in the second half, everyone played amazing.”
