But Sancho surprised everyone by coming back to Dortmund on loan in January. He is already having more success than he was before he left Germany three years ago.

Dortmund beat Atletico 4–2 on Tuesday, coming back from a 2-1 loss in the first leg to finish in the top four. The 24-year-old started the game.

After beating Barcelona 4-1 on the night and 6-4 overall, Paris Saint-Germain gets ready to play the Bundesliga giants.

Sancho will now play in the semi-finals of the Champions League. United hasn’t been to this point since Sir Alex Ferguson’s team lost to Barcelona in the final for the second time in three years in 2011.

In the nine Champions League seasons since then, the Red Devils have only made it to the quarterfinals twice.

Three times, they lost in the round of 16 and four times, they didn’t make it out of their group. Ten Hag’s team will probably not be there next season.

Sancho has already made fun of United by saying that Dortmund felt like “home” after he set up a goal on his second start against Darmstadt in January.

“Ever since I’ve come back I have felt at home and I’m just happy to be back on the pitch again,” he said.

“Coming back and seeing Marco [Reus] again was meant to be.” I’m happy to help him reach his goal because we are good friends.

“[My goal is] to be happy again, to be back on the pitch, to help the team, get them back in the top three, and qualify for the Champions League.”

Some people at Carrington may be envious of the ex-England international and loanee failure Marcel Sabitzer as they shine on the biggest stage.ƒ
