Watch: how 32-year-old midfielder James Forrest scores the second goal outside the box during Aberdeen vs Celtic Fc Scottish cup Semi-finals

James Forrest scored Celtic’s second goal off the bench, giving the Hoops a 2-1 lead over Aberdeen. Aberdeen was defeated by Celtic.

Forrest, who had just been brought onto the field as a replacement around one minute earlier, collaborated with Reo Hatate and drove the ball from the left wing to the outside of the penalty area.

He then launched a curled attempt into the bottom right corner of the goal past Kelle Roos, with Aberdeen defender Angus MacDonald appearing to step over the ball, believing that the shot would not trouble Roos, with the goal coming in the 63rd minute.

Since this is Forrest’s 105th goal for Celtic in yet another cup semi-final, the goal will be even more significant to him because it will be his 150th goal overall.

The winger for the Hoops, who made his debut with the Celtic first team in May of 2010, has continued to have an impression each season, scoring in each of his 15 seasons with the club.

It is evident that Brendan Rodgers continues to place a high value on Forrest, since the Irishman had previously referred to him as the best winger at the club.

When this comment was made, it may have caused some confusion; but, when goals like the one he scored this afternoon are taken into consideration, it is easy to see why Rodgers holds him in such high regard.
