Reason why Manchester City striker Erling Haaland was absent in the FA Cup semi-final win over Chelsea
An injury to Erling Haaland’s muscle meant that he couldn’t play in Saturday’s FA Cup defeat of Chelsea.
Haaland played in last Wednesday’s Champions League loss to Real Madrid, but he was taken off in the last few minutes of regular time. The forward wasn’t healthy enough to go to Wembley with the team over the weekend, and he is now a chance for the next game.
Guardiola said before the game against Chelsea that Haaland would not be able to play because of an illness.
Haaland is hurt, Guardiola told BBC Sport on Saturday. Guardiola said, “I don’t think it’s much, but he can’t play today.” “I don’t know [if he will be back for the next game].”
