Crystal Palace coach Oliver Glasner reveals the name of the Newcastle United Fc player there are scared of playing with ahead of Wednesday match clash
Midfielder Sean Longstaff of Newcastle United has been called “very dangerous” before the Magpies’ game at Crystal Palace.
Eddie Howe recently called Longstaff a “unsung hero,” but Palace manager Oliver Glasner has called him a key player and said how valuable he is. Longstaff has started most of Newcastle’s games this season and will be asked to hold down the middle at Selhurst Park.
Glasner said, “Isak is always ready to run alongside.” Anthony Gordon, Harvey Barnes, and then Sean Longstaff in the middle of the field all make a lot of runs and are very dangerous, but we know what they want to do, so it’s up to us to be ready and focused so that what they do doesn’t surprise us.
“But it’s as important what we are doing in our position, that we move the ball quick, that we create chances, that we force them to defend very well.”
Even though Palace was near the bottom of the Premier League table, Toon manager Howe was worried about their danger. On the road, Palace beat Liverpool, and over the weekend, they beat West Ham 5-2.
Howe said, “They’ve had two great games, and I think that was something they were due.” Even though they’ve been playing really well, they may not be getting the wins they deserve.
“They deserve credit for their new manager, who came in and quickly put in place a new system that made the most of the players they had.”
“It gives them a good platform to express themselves and I think, for us, we can’t underestimate this is going to be a difficult game against a team in form.”
