REVEALED: “Not Erling Haaland” – The Manchester City player nominated for Premier League (PL) Player of the Month
Nominations for the Premier League Player of the Month award for April have been made public, but Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne have been left out.
In the United Kingdom, April was a great month for City. The team led by Pep Guardiola won all five games, scoring 19 goals and letting four slip.
People were upset that they lost to Real Madrid in the quarterfinals of the Champions League. City has now put that behind them and is putting all of their attention on the Premier League.
Last month, City had a lot of great players. Foden and De Bruyne stood out.
Eight goals were scored by Foden and three were scored and set up by De Bruyne in April. Two of De Bruyne’s goals came last weekend against Nottingham Forest.
But neither of those players is up for the Premier League Player of the Month award for April. Josko Gvardiol, on the other hand, is.Another player up for Premier League Player of the Month for April is Josko Gvardiol.
The Premier League named today the nominees for the April Player of the Month award. Josko Gvardiol, a defender for City, is one of them, which is well-deserved.
The player from Croatia started all five of City’s Premier League games last month and played the whole game four times. He did start the game against Crystal Palace, but he had to leave at halftime because he was hurt.
In those five games, the 22-year-old was just a good player, scoring two goals and setting up another. His goal against Luton was another great one with his “weak foot.” It came just a few days after his first for the club, which was against Real Madrid.
He scored a great goal with his head from a De Bruyne corner kick against Forest.
Fotmob has been rating Gvardiol all month, and his average grade for the five Premier League games is a very good 7.84.
This week, commentator Leroy Rosenior called Gvardiol “outstanding.” He is also in the running for City’s Player of the Month award for April, along with Foden and De Bruyne.
