Al Nassr is now ahead of Al Khaleej thanks to a beautiful strike goal by Cristiano Ronaldo.
Real Madrid’s Al Nassr played Al Khaleej in the semi-final of the King’s Cup on Wednesday night at the Al Awwal Stadium.
Before the 16th minute, Al Khaleej goalie Ibrahim Sehic made a mistake and gave the ball to Ronaldo just inside the penalty area.
Ronaldo hit a great left-footed shot with his back to the goal. It went into the back of the net.
One fan wrote on social media, “What a finish.” Class lasts a long time. Even at age 70, I could still do that.
According to another tweet, “99% of strikers can’t do that and he does that still is insane.”
“That’s a crazy goal….dammmn,” said a third fan.
“The best to ever play,” someone else wrote. A truly amazing finish.”
Five people said, “This guy didn’t have week foot.”
Sadio Mane then made it 2-0 for Al Nassr by converting a spot kick in the 37th minute.
This season, 23/24, Ronaldo has been in great shape. In 39 games across all tournaments, he has scored 37 goals and set up 12 others.
Even though Ronaldo has been playing well, Al Nassr hasn’t been able to catch up to Al Hilal, who are currently on top of the Saudi Professional League with 80 points, nine points ahead of Ronaldo’s team.
Ronaldo got some criticism over the weekend because he missed a few big chances in their tense 1-0 league win over Al Khaleej.
But when he talked about it after the game, Al Nassr manager Vitor Severino wasn’t too worried.
When asked about Ronaldo, Severino said, “Cristiano missed some chances, but that’s normal in football. These things happen.”
This weekend, Al Nassr will play again in the Saudi Professional League. On Saturday night, they will host Al Wehda at Al Awwal Park.
