FC Barcelona has announced that Pau Cubarsi has signed a new contract after having a great first season with the team.
The club said in a statement, “FC Barcelona and the player Pau Cubarsi have agreed to extend his contract.” This will keep him with the team until June 30, 2027.
Cubarsi’s last contract, which he signed last year, was good until the summer of 2026 but had a tiny €10 million release option.
It made Barcelona open to offers from other teams, and the number of those interested has grown a lot since his big break in the second half of the season.
Consequently, the Catalan giants had been negotiating a fresh deal for some time, and they have now reached a final agreement.
The club has said that this new deal will last until the summer of 2027 and has a higher release clause of €500 million.
The media have said that Cubarsi might be able to sign a longer deal when he turns 18 in January of next year.
