Referee and other Officials reveal for the FA CUP final between Manchester City vs Manchester United on the 25th of May 2024
In late August, Manchester United will go to Wembley to play Manchester City in the FA Cup final.
Andy Madley has been chosen to be the referee for the 2024 Emirates FA Cup final at Wembley, which will take place later this month. The game is between Manchester United and Manchester City.
For the second year in a row, United and City will play each other in the final. United beat Coventry City in a spot shootout last month and moved on to the final.
Team led 3-0 in regular time but lost 4-2 on penalties. Erik ten Hag’s team won the game. In the other semifinal, City’s only goal was made by Bernardo Silva against Chelsea.
Madley, who will be the judge for the game on May 25, was proud when he got the call. “It’s an absolute pleasure and honor to receive this appointment,” he told the FA.
“From a referee’s point of view, it’s the biggest game of their career, and it’s what we all hope to do when we finish the course.” I can only guess what it will be like to take both teams out in front of a packed Wembley.
“To receive this appointment off the back of my hard work this season is truly humbling.”
This season, Madley has made three calls for both United and City. The other referees will be Harry Lennard and Nick Hopton, and the fourth official will be Simon Hooper.
To help Michael Oliver, Peter Banks will be on VAR duty, and Stuart Burt will be the helper.
