Arsenal
The major reason why the 22-year-old Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber was not allow to play during Manchester United vs Arsenal F.C. win match
The Dutch player is not in Mikel Arteta’s matchday team, even though he is traveling to Manchester for Arsenal’s Premier League game at Old Trafford.
Jurrien Timber is not with Arsenal for their Premier League game against Manchester United, even though he made the trip to Old Trafford.
Mikel Arteta has kept the same eleven players from the team that beat Bournemouth 3-0 last week. That means Takehiro Tomiyasu can play left back even though he missed the first part of training this week.
Some people thought Timber could join the team if Tomiyasu wasn’t healthy enough. The Dutch player probably wouldn’t have been picked to start before Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jakub Kiwior.
But Timber would have been a favorite to come off the bench at Old Trafford after missing nine months with an ACL injury he got on the first weekend of the season. Though Arteta had a fully healthy team to choose from, he chose to keep the same group that has won Arsenal’s last three games. Timber has made the trip and is now the 21st player for the Gunners.
Bukayo Saka can also play. Heavy strapping was seen on the England player while he was working at London Colney, but he is free to play at Old Trafford. Saka will want to keep up his great record against United. Only Thierry Henry has scored or set up more goals or assists against United in the Premier League.
Jorginho, on the other hand, is only on the bench, even though he signed a new deal last week. So Thomas Partey will still play for Arsenal in the first eleven.
On the other hand, Manchester United is missing a number of important stars. Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, and Lisandro Martinez are all too sick to play. It looks like Casemiro and Jonny Evans will play together again at center back for Erik ten Hag’s team.
