‘Unreasonable” – 51-year-old Pundit Chris Sutton replied back to Celtic Coach comments Brendan Rodgers with a clear messafe after Celtic Win vs Rangers
Chris Sutton, a former Celtic hero, criticized his former club and Brendan Rodgers for the team’s poor performance, which was exacerbated by losses to Motherwell, Hibs, and St Johnstone.
Rodriguez retaliated against Sutton’s criticism now that the league championship is all but secured, stating that he felt “treated like a novice” in response to the remarks.
The Celtic manager’s remarks “surprised” Sutton.
Rodgers clarified precisely why he made those remarks at that moment, in response to Sutton’s statement today. Although Sutton acknowledged being taken aback by Rodgers’s response, he clarified everything he said.
“Well, it hasn’t exactly returned to bother me on the rear end,” Sutton stated [It’s all Kicking Off]. “Whatever. It is unknown what individuals anticipate, although I am mildly taken aback.
“Around the same time last year, I was discussing the Celtics. His recent home loss was to Hearts, who were eliminated from the Champions League after being defeated by Kilmarnock.
As of Saturday, following Celtic’s victory over Rangers, the Hoops manager explicitly responded to Sutton’s assessment that Rodgers appeared to be “going through the motions” since his return to Celtic.
“During the Champions League, Celtic failed to perform. St. Johnstone and Motherwell were among the opponents against which they suffered drop points.
“At that time, Santa was preceded onto the pitch at Celtic Park to booing.” Because the residents were agitated, the Celtic supporters booed Santa.
“Based on my analysis, my remark was not arduous. Brendan’s commitment was not likely called into doubt. He has every right to respond, in my opinion.
“I was not doubting his dedication; however, the team’s performance appeared robotic, and that is precisely how they were conducting themselves.
“I offer constructive criticism when I believe it is warranted, followed by commendation of teams, players, and managers.”
“Even so, isn’t that what it means to do my job?”
Sutton is a defender of the club against criticism from outside Scotland, but his criticism is generally fair and balanced. Rodgers responded to his detractors at the ideal time.
But in the end, the Celtic manager’s response of bringing us within millimeters of another championship victory by defeating our rivals may have been an appropriate rebuttal to the suggestion that Rodgers wasn’t entirely concentrated.
Sutton’s method of analyzing Celtic would not be acceptable to me. A club-loyal individual who is also critical when necessary is a breath of new air.
In any case, we would not want him to play the cheerleading position as some players do. Scottish football and Celtic are causes that Sutton ardently supports.
I would not have it any other way, despite the fact that his criticism can occasionally be painful.
