Arsenal
The only way Arsenal can win the premier League title instead of Manchester City revealed
Arsenal doesn’t have the title right now, but the race with Manchester City is still very much alive after their win on Sunday.
With Arsenal’s 1-0 win at Manchester United in a leaky Old Trafford, the race for the title will go down to the last day.
How that afternoon turns out will depend on how Manchester City does at Tottenham on Tuesday, their last game before their last home game against West Ham on Sunday. The game between Arsenal and Everton is at the Emirates Stadium.
If Man City wins their last two games, they will be the Premier League winners for a record-setting fourth straight year. Arsenal will have to settle for second place for another year. On the other hand, there are a few different ways that the Gunners could win.
In the first case, City would lose to Tottenham during the week. Since 2021, Chelsea hasn’t won a league game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. However, they did beat them there in the FA Cup in January.
Arsenal knows that if they beat Everton, they will win their first title in 20 years if City loses. The same thing happens if Manchester City and Tottenham tie, though this time things are a little more complicated.
A goal difference of three in Arsenal’s favor would separate the two teams, who would both have 86 points. If Arsenal beat Everton by one goal, City would have to win by five clear goals, which they have done three times in the last ten years and twice this season.
If City can only draw at West Ham, and if they do draw with Spurs this week, then Mikel Arteta would also be happy with a draw against Everton.
Once more, Arsenal will be champions as long as they don’t lose by three more goals against Everton. This is because City will have failed to beat Tottenham and then lost to West Ham.
It goes without saying that Arsenal will win the title at the Emirates if City loses two games that they shouldn’t. That being said, it’s clear that City has the title. They have the upper hand again if Tottenham scores a lot of them, though, on what could be a historic day in North London on Sunday.
