Three (3) Manchester City player that will leave the club after the end of 2023/24 season

At the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, Manchester City will host West Ham in their final Premier League match of the season.

Sunday, as the season nears its conclusion, every focus will be on the Premier League title race. Without defeating Arsenal, the door will be left for the Gunners to surpass Manchester City and clinch the championship.

City’s attention will be solely on the two games that have the potential to propel them to a second consecutive championship, as they will then be in the FA Cup final. The contract predicament of Ilkay Gundogan, which remained unresolved until the German’s departure for Barcelona, overshadowed the run-in during the previous season.

By extending the contracts of players such as Bernardo Silva and Kyle Walker over the past year, the Blues have made every effort to prevent comparable predicaments from arising this year. The only goalkeeper whose contract expires this month is Scott Carson, the third-stringer.

Preliminary rumors regarding the futures of certain players indicate that this does not mean there will be no departures this summer.

Ederson’s injury has forced Stefan Ortega into the starting lineup; the German has acknowledged he may seek a move away from City this summer in pursuit of a larger role. Conte handed over a decision regarding his destiny until the conclusion of the current season, despite Ortega’s heroic performance against Tottenham on Tuesday, which garnered him praise from Pep Guardiola. His decision will be influenced not only by football considerations but also by the fact that he is expecting his second child.

Midweek heroism will earn him a fitting farewell if Sunday is to be his last appearance for the Etihad. The stadium’s attendance will be dominated by those who hope this is not his last home game.

Despite having only 47 minutes of league action and remaining securely on the periphery, Sergio Gomez will be awarded a Premier League medal should City win the championship. He will be forced to decide over the summer whether to remain and attempt to earn a starting position or depart in order to launch his career, as he might not even make the matchday squad if all other players are in good health.

Another player certain to depart at the conclusion of the season is Kalvin Phillips, if City can find a suitor for him, either on loan or permanently. Despite being eligible to face his parent club on Sunday, Phillips, who is injured and on loan at Sunday’s opponents West Ham, would not have been able to operate. It is possible that his concluding action as a City player would consist of participating in any post-match festivities.

Aside from that, Carson’s future remains uncertain, and despite the contract extension he received last summer, speculation has persisted regarding Bernardo. In addition to his longstanding desire to relocate closer to his native Portugal, Bernardo’s rumored £50 million release clause could increase his transfer market demand.

Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish, and Kyle Walker are the subjects of additional unsubstantiated rumors; however, any of their departures would be unexpected.
