Manchester City
Predicted Lineup, Team News, Injury report, player to miss the match: Manchester City vs West Ham United (Premier League)
Manchester City is getting close to winning their fourth straight Premier League title, which has never happened before.
Pep Guardiola’s team is a strong favorite to win the title again after their tense 2-0 win over Tottenham on Tuesday. They will host West Ham on the last day of the season.
City was healthy for their trip to north London because Jack Grealish and Nathan Ake both returned to the team after being out with illness or a minor injury.
In spite of that, they did not come out of the Spurs game completely unscathed.
Guardiola said that first-choice goalkeeper Ederson wasn’t hurt before he was replaced by Stefan Ortega after a bad collision with Cristian Romero. However, scans showed that Ederson has a small fracture in his right eye socket, so he will miss both the game against West Ham and the FA Cup final against Manchester United at Wembley on May 25.
But because of how Ortega played after coming on, the backup goalkeeper might have kept his spot anyway.
Kevin De Bruyne was also taken off because Pape Matar Sarr tackled him, and Guardiola said the Belgian “couldn’t run properly.” But the playmaker put people’s minds at ease about his injury after the game.
Guardiola then said that City “will see” about his health.
Manchester City predicted XI: Ortega; Kyle Walker, Ruben Dias, Akanji, Gvardiol; Rodri, Mateo Kovacic; Silva, Phil Foden, Doku; Erling Haaland
