Steve Bruce has made a shocking statement about a transfer involving Newcastle United and two Crystal Palace players.
Steve Bruce said that while he was in charge of Newcastle United, he tried to sign Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace. There have been rumors that both Olise and Eze could leave Selhurst Park for big money this summer. Olise has been linked with a £60m move to St. James’ Park when the transfer window opens next month. Meanwhile, Eze is said to be worth £60 million to Palace.

Under Oliver Glasner, the Eagles’ play has gotten a lot better, and Olise and Eze have been two of the biggest winners. Because of this, Eze was added to Gareth Southgate’s provisional Euro 2024 team, but that doesn’t mean he will play for England in Germany this summer.

Bruce, meanwhile, told Betway that he wanted to sign both players for Newcastle United. He also suggested that Manchester United might be interested in them this summer, when they start their first transfer window since Sir Jim Ratcliffe invested in the club.

Bruce said, “It’s funny, I tried to take them both to Newcastle, but they both chose to stay in London.” Every day, Man United’s potential new signings are written about in the back pages.

“I hope they fix that part of the business. What they’re doing upstairs should only help. Yes, they will, since Dan Ashworth is their sports director.

“Young English players who are good in the Premier League are the ones that Man United’s always done well with.” Because you know what you’re getting, I wouldn’t be surprised if they tried to buy from the Premier League.

Even though Newcastle United’s season is over, they are still interested in playing football in England. On Saturday, they need Manchester City to beat Manchester United in the FA Cup final. If that does happen, the Magpies will play in the Conference League next year. With their win over Brentford on Sunday, they clinched a seventh-place finish.
