Newcastle United latest transfer update on the 30-year-old midfielder Ryan Fraser as plans have been finalised ahead of summer transfer window! Permanent move or Not?
Ryan Fraser is about to play in his first Premier League game since leaving Newcastle United, but he is going to leave St. James’ Park this summer.
Later this afternoon, Southampton will play Leeds United in the Championship play-off final. The winner will go back to the Premier League after only one year away. The Saints were beat by Leeds by one spot and three points in the league table.
Ryan Fraser may be able to make the move from Newcastle United to Southampton permanently if they beat Leeds at Wembley. He did a great job while on loan from Newcastle United. This season, the 30-year-old has scored eight goals and set up three others across all competitions. He also started last weekend’s 3-1 win over West Brom in the second game of the play-offs.
Fraser moved to Southampton after Eddie Howe pushed him down the ranks and kept him out of the first team at Newcastle. Fraser hasn’t played for Newcastle since October 2022, and he’s likely to leave the club this summer, either temporarily or permanently.
Saints could get the money they need to sign the Scotland international when the window opens if they win today. Russell Martin asked about making Fraser’s move permanent in the winter: “Would I like to make it permanent?” Yes. Unfortunately, I don’t think that will happen because of the money, the time, and his current position.
“Right now I don’t think it’s possible, but he should keep doing what he’s doing because he’s happy and in a good place.” “We’ll see, but I think he’d really love to stay here after this season.”
Fraser has also said in the past that he wants to move to the south coast permanently because he thinks his time at Newcastle United is over: “I think my time at Newcastle is done now.” If you might be able to pay it back, I don’t think you should be sent out on loan. We all saw that the second half of last season was tough.
“The reason I came here was to help the team in any way I could.” That has been making a difference in games off the bench. It makes me feel so good to help the team.
