However, Ten Hag had the chance to end the season on a high note by leading his team to victory in the FA Cup final on Saturday.
However, rumors about his future at Old Trafford dominated the buildup to the big game at Wembley. This week, the MEN reported that the club is interested in Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna, even though Mauricio Pochettino became the favorite to replace Ten Hag.
After coming second in the Championship, McKenna led the Tractor Boys back to England’s top league for the first time in 22 years. He was a former United academy and first-team coach. Ipswich went from League One to the second level and back to the Premier League thanks to his amazing rise.
Reports say that United will fire Ten Hag after the FA Cup final, but the club has failed to say anything about the situation. Shearer slammed United, while Rooney said it was like when Louis van Gaal was fired.
“There was noises about Louis before the final, you see it but as a player you focus on the game,” Rooney added. “The club needs to decide quickly whether Erik ten Hag stays or leaves because I don’t think it’s right to let it drag on.”
Shearer said, “It wouldn’t be a surprise if it did happen. New owners would bring in new ideas and people who would run it the way they want.” The quiet is unbearable because it’s so disrespectful to Erik ten Hag as a person.
“If they wanted to back him, they could’ve backed him one month ago, two months ago saying ‘no he is our man, we’re sticking with him for next season’ but there’s been nothing which tells a story.”
Roy Keane, meanwhile, was worried about how the bad mood could affect the team. He told her, “It’s not good.” A lot of bad things are said about that, and rumors about the boss probably don’t help the players. But there is a reason for all that noise and bad feelings: United hasn’t been playing well, especially in the last few months.
Their success in the league and in Europe has not been good enough. The place they got in the league was not good.
