English pundit Chris Sutton reveals the “price fee” Celtic F.C may need to keep Adam Idah permanently in the club ahead of summer transfer

I think it’s safe to say that Adam Idah has been a star since he joined Celtic on loan from Norwich City in January.

There wasn’t much of a fuss when the 23-year-old came at Parkhead as Norwich’s third-choice striker, but when his loan deal ends at the end of this month, Idah will be a hero at the Championship club.

Idah won over Celtic fans by scoring important goals against Rangers in the league and the Scottish Cup final. Now, everyone will be hoping that Brendan Rodgers will make the temporary move permanent.

It’s clear what Brendan Rodgers wants to do, and reports this morning say that the Celtic board will back him in his chase of Idah. Fans of the Hoops will be very interested to see how this move goes.

If Celtic wants to get Idah, they will have to “splash out.”

Norwich may have wanted £5 million for their star at first, but it may cost more than that. According to Chris Sutton, Celtic may have to pay twice the original price.

Monday Night Club: Sutton said, “I think this is a really tough one, and I can see why Celtic fans are upset about it.” We’ve talked about this before, but when Ange Postecoglou came in, he went after the Japanese market because it was a good one to go after because they could get good players for a fair price.

“But what level are Celtic willing to go to for a development player?” When you look at the money down in the English Premier League, it’s hard because you can’t be sure of anything.

“But see what Brendan Rodgers is doing.” There’s no question in my mind that Brendan Rodgers is a great team coach. And he makes players better.

“But Adam Idah is the talk of the town right now among Celtic fans.”

No deal was made for Adam Idah to sign with Celtic when his loan was over because he has a long-term deal with Norwich.

“How much would you charge for Adam Idah this time?” Because of this, things are hard. I think he might be worth around £7m, £8m, or £9m. Norwich could want more.

“I think he has a pretty long-term deal there.” Nevertheless, do you remember Odsonne Edouard when he joined Celtic from PSG?

He was worth £9m, I think. So Celtic might have to spend a lot of money. They might not want to, but they have to.

A guy that Norwich didn’t think was good enough to start for them just four months ago is now scoring nine goals, so I think £5m is a fair price to pay for him.

But if what Sutton says is true, I’m afraid Celtic might not believe the numbers he’s giving them and move on to other targets instead.

No matter how much I want Idah to sign, I think that anything over £5m, or even £6m, might be too much for the Celtic board.

Honestly, Idah wasn’t going anywhere until Celtic came along. It would be silly to try to get a fee of £9 million, and Celtic would be smart to walk away.

Let’s hope that doesn’t happen and that both clubs can come to an agreement on a fair deal for the Irish player. He would be a great addition to Celtic’s team next season.
