“it’s frustrating” – Manchester City 49-year-old chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak delivers a sad message on how he truly feels about Premier League Man City 115 charges ahead of legal case

The chairman of Manchester City is angry that the team’s progress is being framed by the Premier League charges that are hanging over the club.

City has been accused of breaking 115 rules, such as lying about their finances for almost ten years to get an edge over their competitors. The hearing isn’t until later this year, which is more than 18 months after the accusations were made public. Until it’s over, there are still questions about the team’s success and reputation.

The Blues are proud of what they’ve done. In 2023, they won the Treble, and this summer, they became the first team in English history to win four league titles in a row. But chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said he felt sorry for the fans and staff because of “the way it’s being talked about” while they wait for a decision that is “taking longer than what anyone hoped for.”

“Of course it must be annoying.” I always find it annoying when people refer to things. Talking about it the way it’s being talked about. “I feel bad for our fans and everyone connected with the club that these charges are always being brought up,” he said.

“I think that as a club, we need to understand that there is a process we need to follow, and we are.” As I’ve always said, let’s be judged by the facts, not by claims and counterclaims. It’s taking longer than anyone had hoped, but that’s just how things are.

City will have a seismic meeting later this year about the charges against them. The club is also reportedly disputing the Premier League’s most recent version of the Associated Party Transaction rules, which they say are illegal and hurt competition. The meeting is set to begin next week and last for two weeks.

After the Saudi-led takeover of Newcastle United, clubs in the Premier League and others were eager to enforce APT rules. City’s fight against the rules is not going to make things better with those groups.
