Nicolas Kuhn reveals the name of the Celtic F.C player everyone is scared of too play against in the UEFA EURO 2024
Steve Clarke has Callum McGregor, James Forrest, Anthony Ralston, and Greg Taylor all in his plans for the event. Each of them has their own strengths, but only one is expected to hurt Germany in the first game on Friday night in Munich.
Nicolas Kuhn spoke out before Scotland played his home country. He told his people to expect Scotland to “fight hard” with a Celtic man leading the way.
Germany should be scared John McGregor Callum
James Forrest has shown that he can be dangerous on the left, and Anthony Ralston and Greg Taylor can add to the attack from both sides.
But Kuhn thinks that Callum McGregor will be the most dangerous for the Euro hosts when the event starts this week.
Kuhn said [page 56 of the print version of the Press & Journal]: “Callum McGregor can hurt the Germans.” He really is a leader.
“He is a player who never stops moving.” He won’t stop until the game is over. He can also pass the ball well, and he’s a truly nice person.
Calum is usually pretty quiet, but when something goes wrong at Celtic, he talks up in the locker room. Then he steps in sometimes. So he’s like the manager’s arm.
“He’s learned a lot here over the years and won more than 20 titles with this club.” Callum is good at winning big games.
“There’s no doubt that Germany is the favorite.” In a single game, though, anything can happen.
“The Scots are going to fight tough.” They also have some very skilled pros working for them.
The start of Euro 2024 is in less than four days, and Celtic is very interested in the event. Four Parkhead players will be going to Germany with the Scotland team.
There are four guys I play with at Celtic: Callum, Greg Taylor, Anthony Ralston, and James Forrest. Scott McTominay plays for Manchester United, along with those four.
It’s just not the same how people tackle each other in Scottish football; things are much rougher here than in Germany.”
In the past few years, McGregor has been a rock for both his club and his country. But Steve Clarke in particular has been almost impossible to drop for the Celtic leader.
It’s clear that Clarke trusts the Celtic captain to do well in big games when it counts. He has been used in all but one of Scotland’s Euro 2024 qualifiers.
The Scotland manager will be hoping that McGregor puts in the same kind of tough play that he sees so often at Parkhead, just like he does at Celtic.
Clarke will need McGregor to be in full battle gear if he wants to beat a German team that has players like Kai Haverts. The Germans are favorite to win the event.
