Done Deal: Celtic and Paulo Bernardo agree on a transfer deal

In the news, Celtic’s search for Paulo Bernardo has been going on for a long time, but they have finally made the move they were hoping for.

After coming to the club on loan from Benfica last season to get more regular week-to-week games, Bernardo had a good time there. He never quite became a first-choice midfielder, but he was a useful member of the squad and made 15 starts and 18 substitute games.

The talented Portuguese player also showed up in big games, like when he scored in a close derby win over Rangers. Since the end of the season, it has been said that Celtic and Benfica are in talks to sign Bernardo. At times, it seems like the talks will never end.

Thank goodness, more solid news is now coming out, and Celtic is almost ready to make another transfer statement.

Paulo Bernardo is in for a test with Celtic. Stephen McGowan of The Scottish Daily Mail says that Celtic has agreed on a price for Bernardo’s transfer and a personal deal.

He will now have a check with the Bhoys before he is officially introduced as the first outfield player signed this summer. Celtic is said to have agreed to pay about £3.5 million for the player.

If the player is later sold to another club, Benfica will get 30% of that price. Bernardo is going to sign a long-term deal with Celtic. Now that he is 22, Bernardo is ready to make the Bhoys his long-term home. He is rumored to be signing a five-year deal that will keep him with the club until the summer of 2029.

Brendan Rodgers will now have the chance to help Bernardo improve his skills even more and become a regular member of the Celtic starting eleven. Even for the Bhoys, this summer has been pretty slow. However, they have signed two goalkeepers and are almost done with Bernardo, so hopefully they will keep making good moves in the market.
