Man United has announced that Rasmus Hojlund and Leny Yoro will not be able to start the new season.
Leny Yoro, who was just signed by Manchester United, will be out for three months, and Rasmus Hojlund, a striker, will be out for six weeks.
Yoro broke a metatarsal bone in the 2-1 loss to Arsenal in a game in Los Angeles. He won’t be able to play again until October. In the 13th minute of the game, Hojlund hurt his leg.
French player Yoro seemed to get into a small fight with Gabriel Jesus right before he had to leave the game at the SoFi Stadium in the 34th minute.
Hojlund, who is 21 years old, won’t be able to play in the Community Shield against Manchester City, the first Premier League game at home against Fulham, the away game against Brighton, or the game at home against Liverpool. The Denmark player might be free after the September internationals.
Yoro, who is 18, wants to stay with the team for the rest of their pre-season tour of the United States. He will be evaluated again when he gets back to the UK to get a better idea of his abilities.
United doesn’t have the €70 million player Yoro, so manager Erik ten Hag can choose from three senior center backs. They also want to sell Victor Lindelof, whose deal ends next year.
After being on international service, Lisandro Martinez is set to return to training next week. However, the Yoro setback could make United make a third offer for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite. United is also interested in Matthijs de Ligt, a defender for Bayern Munich. This is because United is willing to sign three center backs this summer.
United bought a new striker for £36.5 million. Joshua Zirkzee started pre-season training at Carrington this week.
Yoro didn’t play his first game for United until last week against Rangers, after moving there from Lille.
