After agreeing to a £15 million deal with Sheffield United for William Osula, Newcastle United is almost done with their sixth summer signing.
The 20-year-old forward played 21 times in the Premier League for The Blades last year, but his only goals came in the FA Cup. The player from Denmark’s Under-21 team can hit from the wide areas or the middle. He would be brought in to help Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson as the new season starts.
Wilson is currently out with a back injury and will not play on August 17 against Southampton, the first game of the new season. Isak will be Newcastle’s only healthy senior scorer going into the new year.
Newcastle has been talking about a move worth £10 million plus an extra £5 million. It is said by The Telegraph that Newcastle and Sheffield United have agreed to that fee.
It’s almost time for Newcastle United to sign exciting young forward William Osula from Sheffield United.
Paul Mitchell is set to make Osula his first signing since taking over as sporting director at Newcastle. He will also be the club’s sixth signing this summer. They have already signed Lloyd Kelly, Lewis Hall, Odysseas Vlachodimos, John Ruddy, and Miodrag Pivas to long-term deals.
Ed Howe, the head coach of Newcastle, has also said that more players might leave the club this summer, and Wilson is one of them. But his most recent illness might make it less likely that he will leave this month.
The Magpies have already let two players go this month. Elliot Anderson will go to Nottingham Forest for £35 million, and Yankuba Minteh will go to Brighton & Hove Albion for £33 million.
