Surgery confirmed – Manchester United delivers the lates Leny Yoro injury update as Erik ten Hag explains Man United transfer stance of Matthijs de Ligt

Erik ten Hag has talked about the possibility of signing Matthijs de Ligt, a defender from Bayern Munich. This is the latest trade news and rumors about Manchester United.

Matthijs de Ligt is still said to be interested in moving to Manchester United this summer.

United made improving the center back position a top goal for the summer transfer window this year. Lenny Yoro has already been signed from Lille, and this summer they are set to go after more players.

All summer, De Ligt has been linked with a move to Manchester United. United are also interested in Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite. It is said that Bayern Munich wants to pay £42 million for De Ligt this summer, and personal terms have already been agreed upon.

Ever since Yoro got hurt, United is likely to look for another new center back like they had planned. It’s not clear yet if the Reds will try to sign De Ligt, Branthwaite, or even someone else before September 2, when the transfer window closes.

A few days ago, United manager Erik ten Hag talked about the chance of De Ligt joining the team. Ten Hag, who used to teach the center-back at Ajax, said that a move might be coming up.

“I know Matthijs de Ligt well, so I don’t know for sure if he will come,” Ten Hag told the Dutch news company AD in July. “Two years ago, I wanted to sign him, but he was already very close to joining Bayern.”

United revealed on Monday that Yoro’s surgery to fix a foot injury went well. Additionally, the club stated that the center-back will be unavailable for three months as he heals from his injury.

United now knows that Yoro won’t be available until early November. It remains to be seen if the club will make a stronger move for De Ligt before the transfer window closes.
