William Gallas, a former Arsenal defender, is against the team’s plan to sign Mikel Merino, a 28-year-old playmaker from Real Sociedad.
Gallas says that Mikel Arteta’s team already has Declan Rice, so Merino doesn’t need to be brought to Emirates.
Merino is the player that Arsenal wants to sign the most this summer.
Reports from last week said a deal is likely to happen soon.
Galas, on the other hand, thinks that the Premier League North London club needs a new scorer instead of Merina.
The French player told Genting Casino, “Arsenal don’t need to sign Mikel Merino because they already have Declan Rice who can play that role.”
It doesn’t seem like Arsenal needs another playmaker. They need a forward and maybe a left.
