Arsenal’s squad for the preseason match against Lyon does not include Jurrien Timber and Fabio Vieira.
Eddie Nketiah has been included in Arsenal’s squad for their final pre-season exhibition against Lyon in the Emirates Cup, despite rumors connecting him to a potential departure from north London.
Marseille is believed to be the frontrunner in the pursuit of Nketiah’s signature, which has been the subject of considerable speculation in recent weeks. Arsenal is reportedly seeking €30 million (£25.6 million) for the 25-year-old, who is believed to be amenable to the prospect of a transfer.
Nevertheless, Mikel Arteta is determined to incorporate Nketiah into his season-long strategy. The Hale Ender has participated in each of Arsenal’s pre-season friendlies thus far and has been designated as a substitute for their match against Lyon.
Riccardo Calafiori is also included in the substitutes. After completing a £42 million transfer from Bologna last month, the Italian international will be eager to make his debut.
Jurrien Timber, however, is not included in the substitutes list due to his ongoing recovery from a foot injury. He is believed to be recovering from an ACL issue, and the issue is considered to be minor.
Meanwhile, Fabio Vieira is also excluded from the squad for the match at Emirates Stadium. The Portuguese midfielder is currently experiencing a modest hip issue.
