BREAKING: Champions League POTS ahead of draw on Thursday afternoon as Celtic find’s itself among the qualified team
Celtic supporters will be anticipating the announcement of their team’s opponents in the Champions League proper today, as the qualifiers concluded last night.
The Bhoys will encounter four opponents at home and four opponents abroad in the new format. The best eight teams will automatically advance to the last 16, while the teams ranked ninth through 25th will participate in a play-off to reach the same stage.
Brendan Rodgers has been the subject of much discussion this week regarding the provision of the necessary tools in the transfer market to optimize his chances of success in the tournament. Therefore, it will be intriguing to observe whether Celtic augment their roster prior to the deadline.
In either case, today’s draw will be the first of three significant events this week, with Deadline Day and a Glasgow Derby against Rangers on Sunday constituting the other two, respectively.
The 36 teams that will be included in the draw have been disclosed as a consequence of the results from the previous night.
The Champions League draw includes all 36 teams.
Celtic supporters are now anticipating their team’s participation in the Champions League for the third consecutive season, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
Four pots are enclosed, each of which contains nine sides, along with their seed and classification. This arrangement has the potential to produce some delectable ties. The Bhoys are matched up against two teams from each of the four categories.
The Bhoys will encounter an enticing opponent in the newly-structured format, and they are anticipating exciting times ahead. The league phase will conclude in late January, following which play-offs and quarterfinal football will commence.
