Erling Haaland scored two great goals in Manchester City’s 2-1 win over Brentford to keep their perfect start to the 2024–2025 Premier League season going.

After Yoane Wissa gave the Bees the lead in just 22 seconds, City’s start could not have been worse.

The ball hit Ederson Moraes in the hand and fell into Wissa’s path, giving him a clear goal to shoot at. John Stones cut the ball while trying to clear it.

Ever since November 2022, when Brentford was the last team to win at the Etihad Stadium, it looked like they would do it again.

On the other hand, Haaland’s equalizer in the 19th minute got City back into the game.

The Norwegian got a ball that was going around, swung his right peg at it, and ended with style. His shot hit Ethan Pinnock and went over Mark Flekken on its way.

Pinnock, on the other hand, would once again be hurt by the £51 million man’s skill.

After bouncing off the Jamaican player in the 32nd minute, Haaland dinked the ball over Flekken to score his second goal of the game.

With his well-hit pass to the star scorer, Ederson had now set up four goals in the Premier League.

The striker from Leeds had more chances to make his lead as the Premier League’s top scorer even bigger.

On Saturday, though, Flekken was in great shape.

Thanks to Haaland’s great play, Manchester City got the very important three points against Brentford. Jack Grealish sent him a short message.

“Four out of four….and it always feels so good to be back at home,” Grealish wrote on Instagram.

It wasn’t bad again, son @erling.haaland.

Otherwise, Man City might have lost points to Brentford.
In the first half, Brentford had 52% of the ball, which doesn’t happen very often at the Etihad Airport.

In addition, Thomas Frank’s team had seven shots on goal after the first 45 minutes, while the home team only had three.

The West London team might have even been able to beat City on another day.

However, Haaland, a player for Pep Guardiola’s team, may be the best player in the world right now. He had two brilliant moments that helped his team win.

When the Sky Blues don’t play their best, like when they play Brentford, players like the two-time Premier League winner often make sure they can win even though they aren’t playing their best.
