David Ornstein talks about which Arsenal young player is now a real member of Mikel Arteta’s first team this season.

Last night in the Carabao Cup, Arsenal beat Bolton by a huge score. Since then, David Ornstein has revealed that the 17-year-old player who stole the show at the Emirates Stadium is now a real member of Mikel Arteta’s first team.

The Gunners got a good draw because they played a lower league team at the Emirates Stadium. This gave Mikel Arteta a chance to play many of his young players.

Some people have said that the Arsenal boss doesn’t give young players enough playing time in cup games. This is especially true since the club lost skilled striker Chido Obi Martin to Manchester United last summer because he couldn’t see a way to make the first team.

However, Mikel Arteta made a point with the players he chose to start and come off the bench last night. There were four first starts for Arsenal youth players under the manager’s watch. Jack Porter, 16, started in goal for the Gunners.

Two more Hale End pupils came off the bench to play their first full game for the North London team.

But neither the staff at the club nor the fans were surprised by which Arsenal kid stole the show last night. In the 21st century, Ethan Nwaneri, who is 17 years old, scored two or more goals on his first start for Arsenal. He is the youngest player to do this.

In an interview with Sky Sports’ Back Pages podcast, David Ornstein said again about the motion: “He’s shown confidence in Nwaneri, who I thought was absolutely outstanding tonight. If you watch him with both feet, his balance on the half turn, creating, scoring, full of confidence.”

“At only 17, he’s already an important part of the first team.”
